The establishment of our Connecticut Center for Augmentative Communication (CAAC) component in the 1980's made SVSNS a leader in the evaluation and training of individuals physically unable to use speech as a viable means of communication.
With the majority of students and adults in the School and Adult programs having speech-impairments, our Speech/Language Therapists have extensive experience in the application of both electronic and non-electronic alternative modalities of communication.
Services to out-patients are provided by a Speech/Language Therapist who specializes in the evaluation and training of individuals using augmentation communication technology.
