We are pleased to offer our space for meetings of all parent support groups as well as community, regional, and state-wide organizations serving families and individuals with special health care needs.
In cooperation with Child First of Greater Bridgeport, we can refer a family in financial need to The Community Closet for gently-used (and new) infant and children's furniture, toys, and books. By prior arrangement, the Family Center is also a collection point for donated items for The Community Closet.
We encourage families to become well-informed and empowered advocates for their child's needs and, if able, in turn to use their personal experience to help other families advocate for their child. We can suggest contacts that families may make if they wish to become more involved in working for the health and welfare of all children with disabilities and special health care needs on the local, regional and State level.
