Bio

Dr. Andrea Marcus (Marcadis) MD is a Colon and Rectal Surgeon with Hartford Healthcare, Fairfield region. She is double-board certified by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery and the American Board of Surgery. She specializes in robotic surgery, with a focus on colon and rectal cancers and inflammatory bowel diseases. She also cares for patients with anorectal ailments such as hemorrhoids, fistulas, and fissures, as well as patients with pelvic floor dysfunction. She completed her General Surgery training at Yale New Haven Hospital, followed by two Colon and Rectal Surgery fellowships, one at the University of Chicago with a focus on inflammatory bowel diseases, and another at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center focusing on colon, rectal, and anal cancers, and robotic surgery. She also completed a research fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering where she studied cancer epidemiology and mechanisms of cancer invasion, publishing in numerous high impact medical journals. Dr. Marcus is excited to return to Connecticut to care for patients in the place where she trained. Dr. Marcus is a member of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons.
