Kristin Nicole Appelberg, a Trumbull High School freshman, who wanted to become a special education teacher was the inspiration for a record-breaking golf tournament held May 24th at Tashua Knolls in Trumbull.
The tournament saw 215 golfers in play, had 68 major contributing sponsors, and raised nearly $80,000 to help SVSNS maintain its 11 group homes and residential units for children and adults with multiple developmental disabilities and complex medical needs. Children's residences are located in Trumbull, Stratford, and Newtown, and group homes for adults are located in Trumbull, Stratford, Bridgeport, Shelton, Monroe, and Stamford.
