The Ayer Neuroscience Institute is a premier training site for the next generation of medical professionals. Trainees receive hands-on training from experts across numerous disciplines and receive exposure to multiple patient settings in our outpatient and inpatient locations.
Residency Programs
Hartford HealthCare is the primary training site for Neurology, Neurosurgery and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency programs. These programs are collaborative with the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. All Hartford HealthCare teaching faculty have university faculty appointments.

Administrative Fellowship Program
The Ayer Neuroscience Institute has a unique 12-month administrative fellowship program for Masters in Health Administration (MHA) graduates of George Washington University.
Continuing Medical Education
Hartford HealthCare, in collaboration with Connecticut Children’s Hospital and UConn Health, offers a weekly multi-institutional CME-approved Neuroscience Grand Round series for neuroscience health professionals.
Lectures from local and visiting faculty occur virtually on Thursday mornings from 7:30 – 9 am from September through June.
